Making friends at work:

• In Austria, we work an average of 40 hours a week which means 8 hours over 5 days per week. That means that we spend a lot of time at work and get to know our colleagues quite well. It is typical to have 30 minutes per day for a lunch break that one can spend by eating together – just ask your colleagues at what time they go on their break and whether they would like to eat with you. Work is the ideal place to make Austrian friends. If you have already been granted asylum, you are allowed to work and earn money.
